A Tortoise and a Hare
Written by
Illustrated by
A tortoise and a hare live in a lovely green forest. The hare is known for his incredible speed and habit of boasting about it. The tortoise, however, is slow andsteady.
One day, the hare laughs at the tortoise. ‘You are so slow! I can beat you in a race any day,’ he says. Tired of the hare’s boasting, the tortoise replies, ‘Let’s have a race and see who is faster.’
The news of this unusual race spreads quickly, and the forest’s animals soon gather around. The fox announces the start, ‘On your marks, get set, go!’ The race begins.
Right from the start, the hare bolts forward with such speed that he soon leaves the tortoise far behind. Thinking he has plenty of time to win, the hare decides to take a nap under a tree.
Meanwhile, the tortoise keeps walking slowly. He keeps going step by step, without stopping or getting distracted.
After a while, the hare wakes up and starts running again. But when he reaches the finish line, he is surprised. All the animals are cheering, not for him, but for the tortoise, who has already crossed the finish line! The tortoise has won the race!
